About Us

We Transform Climate Challenges Into Community-Led Action
Sustainable Participatory Development and Climate Resilience Initiative (SPiD) is a youth-led, community-rooted organization working across Nigeria and Africa to strengthen climate resilience through participatory governance, local knowledge systems, and innovation. We harness local insights, data, and stories to shape inclusive policies and interventions that reflect the realities of the communities we serve.
“We believe that effective climate action must be locally led, community driven, and evidence informed.”
Our Vision
A Just and Climate-Resilient Africa
A just and climate-resilient Africa where empowered communities and young people shape inclusive, sustainable futures.
Our Mission
Strengthen Participatory Development
To strengthen participatory development and climate resilience by building community capacity, amplifying local voices, and advancing equitable policies
Our Why
The Problem We Exist to Solve
Climate change is disproportionately affecting African communities, undermining livelihoods, food systems, water security, public health, and economic stability. Yet those most impacted often lack access to the platforms, resources, and decision-making spaces shaping climate solutions.
"SPiD exists to close this gap."
We center communities — especially youth, women, and marginalized groups — not as beneficiaries, but as co-creators and leaders of climate resilience.
